This 15th-century manor home is of great comfort and character, furnished with a collection of antiques and fine art with all the amenities of modern living.
Saumur Champfreau Manor Le Manoir de Champfreau is a spacious home: 120 square meters (1,200 square feet) and you will immediately feel at home.
Within its 3 acres of walled gardens, partially moated, centered on 50 acres, you will enjoy the privacy this exceptional manor home offers.
The delightful swimming pool within the walled garden provides complete privacy.
The two ponds and the partial moat attract wildlife and provide a serene meditative atmopshere.
You will find a large collection of art and architecture books in English and French for your use.
In summer the manor’s thick walls keep a welcomed coolness. In winter, enjoy being in front of a blazing fire by the imposing Gothic stone fireplace. Wood is provided.
Christmas and New Year holiday rental is available. During the holidays, the manoir is decorated with a Christmas tree, evergreens, holly and misletoe.

Champfreau Manor 4 poster bedroom The Plum Bedroom is an ensuite bedroom featuring a four-poster double bed with plum velvet bed hangings. A truely romantic room.
The Tapestry Bedroom is decorated in greens, blues and browns. This bedroom has its queen-size bed dressed in teal cut velvet.
The Rose Bedroom has a southern exposure with a captivating view of the fortified entrance and topiary garden. The walls are upholstered in a delightful rose and green floral fabric with coordinating curtains and bed head.

The kitchen is equipped with a large refrigerater freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, electric tea kettle, a cooking surface with 3 gas and one electric burners and an electric oven with grill and rotiserie. All appliances are brand new.
There is a washing machine and clothes dryer for your use.
Within the living room and dining area there is access to satellite TV and the stereo system plays radio, tapes and CDs. An extensive collection of CDs range from jazz, classical, opera, lounge to pop.
The dining area has a large antique table that seats 8 comfortably.
There is beautiful wooden lawn furniture and both gas and charcoal barbeque facilities to enjoy. Outdoor dining takes place on a lovely mosaic topped table from Morocco.
3 bicycles are provided.
There is 1 bathroom and 1 shower room.
There is ample parking available both indoors and out.
Bed and bathroom linens, bicycles, fireplace wood, charcoal and gas for the barbecue are all provided at no extra charge.
Set within the Loire valley Nature park, this area has recently been included on UNESCO’s world patrimony list to preserve the spectacular scenery along 180 miles of the Loire, the last wild river in Europe.
The Loire valley is famous for its many châteaux where kings and their courts built an impressive array of stately homes ranging from medieval times through every period and style to the second empire in the mid-19th century.
This area is also known for its wine: Chinon, Bourgeuil or the rich, sweet wine of Coteau du Layon or the sparklings of Saumur. Le Cadre Noir, the classical academic riding school is based in Saumur (8 miles away) and gives gala evenings from April to October.
